Monty’s, Take 3
What’s your favourite chocolate treat?

Remember the box of chocolates from Monty’s that kept on giving? Well, recently I received another instalment. (Yes, I surround myself with enablers.) As before, I’ve decided to share my decidedly non-expert views with you.

Coppeneur: Erdbeere & Minze (strawberry & mint) – on the left
This didn’t seem to have much to do with chocolate. It had a very strong strawberry taste, reminiscent of childhood lollies, but the mint is so subtle it’s more of an aftertaste.
Coppeneur: Mandel & Kaffee (almond & coffee) – on the right
There’s a distinct coffee note in the first bite, but that quickly fades. The almond is barely perceptible.

Rococo Organic Artisan Bar: Sea Salt flavour – on the left
This chocolate bar has a pleasant caramel taste (probably from its main ingredient, organic cane sugar), nicely balanced by the occasional bursts of salt.
Menakao Truly Madagascar: Madagascan vanilla – on the right
Imbued with a rich, full-bodied taste and a slight caramel undertone, each bite also contains a hint of saltiness.
Monty’s is included in the five “Best Chocolatiers in the Southeast” of the Courier Mail Food + Drink Top Spots. If you haven’t been there yet, check out the large variety on offer.
