We promise not to go all Perez or TMZ on you, but we are rather excited about some recent sightings. (And here you thought this blog was all about food and books.)
One day during the Writers Festival we saw funny-lady Wendy Harmer stride by the shop. We didn’t have the chutzpah to run after her and drag her in, but maybe she picked up on the intense wishful thinking because the next day there she was, walking through our door!
Last week one of the past Masterchef contestants came in. We’ve also met exceptional photographer Alicia Taylor (check out her beautiful work) and a local journalist.
A couple of days ago William Powers (author of New York Times bestseller Hamlet’s Blackberry) came for a spot of shopping. He was a nice and polite gentleman. Now we’ll have to go buy his book, which does look very interesting.
Although he’s not a celebrity, we were very excited over the weekend when the visual merchandiser from a well-known Sydney department store came into the shop. We had a good chat and hope we’ve made a good connection. Yes, we’re learning to be shameless!
By the way, rumour has it that a well-known magazine is interested in featuring the shop in a future issue. No, not Map magazine – we’ll be featured there next month (issue #135)!
